Early Life
Goodymoog is a rapper, beatmaker, and ambient producer living in LA. Born under New Mexico’s vast skies, Goodymoog grew up immersed in the quiet rhythms of the desert—sweeping sunsets, wind-carved mesas, and the distant hum of mustard coyotes. Rooted in patience and exploration, Goodymoog often wanders the desert at dawn, attuning himself to its subtle frequencies. [1] Blending modular Moogs, analog synths, and field recordings from the Chihuahuan Desert, he crafts immersive soundscapes that blur the line between dream and reality. His debut EP, New Mexico, distills the vastness of sky and sand into meditative, weightless tranquility.[2][3]
Musical Style and Influences
"I find the wind to be a constant source of inspiration in my music. While many overlook it as mere background noise, I’ve always been drawn to its rich musicality. When I was younger, I’d sit at the edge of my bed and listen to the soft rhythms of wind chimes and rustling leaves. As night fell, the wind would grow louder—howling through the valley, shaking branches, and sending the chimes into wild, unpredictable bursts.[4] I try to reflect those emotional shifts in my music, using synths and rap drum beats that echo the wind’s creative energy.[5]"
2024-2025: New Mexico II
Searching for meditative music to help me study, I created New Mexico as a way to re-experience the state's vivid landscapes and vibrant wildlife. For me, New Mexico represents calm and tranquility—feelings I’ve tried to capture throughout the album.
2024-2025: Sickwiththeflow
Sickwiththeflow is a raw and unfiltered account of all the things that make me sick to my stomach - toxic friends, strained relationships, excessive overthinking, low self esteem ... but it’s also about finding my rhythm in the middle of all that noise.
2025: Warp Drive
Warp Drive is a collection of songs that forced me to face my worst nightmares and destroy them. I now understand that under the veil of anger is sadness. And, under all that sadness is a longing to change our warped vision of the past.
